Anthony Cox - FHI MI
Director
Having started with some of the bigger hotel brands, Anthony moved into the world of independent hotels in 2008 and has a wealth of experience working with owners in the independent space.
He has led a diverse range of hospitality businesses including roles as general manager of Thyme and Danesfield House Hotel & Spa and served as Hotels Director of the Vineyard Group. Since 2020 Anthony has been advising several privately owned country estates, helping them to diversify elements of their property portfolios into successful hospitality businesses.
He is currently Non-Executive Director at Wivenhoe House Hotel, home of the Edge Hotel School, a Fellow of the Institute of Hospitality, and a Master Innholder.
Anthony’s commercial acumen, operational expertise and all-round knowhow, built over a thirty-year career mean he is WakeUpCall’s lead consultant working with independent owners to manage and maximise their investment.
Kate Dance CRME
Lead Revenue Consultant
Kate began her career working for brands including Millennium, Copthorne and Principal Hayley. Prior to joining WakeUpCall she was responsible for the Rooms Revenue Division of The Oakley Court, a luxury independent property in Windsor. During her 10-year tenure, she oversaw the most successful growth period in the properties history and was instrumental in its shift from corporate hotel to Soho House inspired members club.
As WakeUpCall’s lead Revenue Consultant, Kate oversees all aspects of our clients’ rooms revenue strategies and third-party distribution management. Her focus is optimising existing and driving new direct revenue streams and providing clients with a sustainable, long-term profitability.

Jake founded WakeUpCall in 2019 having recognised the need for a bespoke full management solution that worked with hotels of all sizes. His experience working in hospitality had highlighted that the traditional ‘one size fits all’ consultancy approach didn’t suit the vastly changing independent hotel sector, where individuality was a core factor of success.
Prior to establishing the company, Jake had worked in Sales, Marketing and Front of House roles for over a decade. Beginning his career with the Principal Hayley Group, he went on to oversee the brand relaunch at The Oakley Court Windsor, successfully implementing a new independent property concept with an award-winning sustainability ethos, before enjoying roles as Marketing Manager at Danesfield House, Marlow and Brand Advisor at Stirrups Hotel.
